“ Cold days mean hot soup. I had won ton soup without noodles. Every wonton had a tasty shrimp. There's lettuce and green onions. It was terrific. I had the view of what dishes were coming out of the kitchen. I was not the only one with won ton soup. Three orders of fried shrimp toast. My eating mate had mushroom yee mein and a cup of Hong Kong tea. ”
“ Located on the corner of Noriega Street, this Chinese restaurant has a bright, eye catching yellow sign. It replaced the ABC Bakery & Cafe, but seems to serve similar food. I came here for lunch with my parents before an appointment nearby. Plenty of booth and table seating, which was occupied by families. Booths were comfy and clean. Our order: 薑蔥龍蝦撈麵 Lobster with Ginger and Green Onion LoMein (Seasonal - $19.95) +Plenty of fresh, bouncy lobster meat +Lo mein wasn't overcooked and soaked up the ginger and green onion sauce. +Fragrant and saucy but not overseasoned 鮮蝦石磨腸粉 Steam Rice Noodle with Shrimp ($6.95) +Rice noodles were so silky smooth and thin! IMO this is the best cheung fun I've eaten in the US. -Shrimp were small and salty: I've had the BBQ pork ones for take out and I prefer that filling. 白雲鳳爪 White Chicken Feet ($13.95) +Large portion of chilled and halved chicken feet -Needed to marinate longer: Tasted underseasoned Side notes: 1.) Complimentary hot tea 2.) Cash discount 3.) Limited street parking *Verdict: 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. No frills Chinese restaurant with delicious food, generous portions, and quick service. I want to return for the steamed rice noodle rolls and try more of their menu! ”
“ I came here for lunch and they offer a variety of Hong Kong-style dishes. I tried the Portuguese chicken baked rice, wonton noodle soup, steamed rice noodles with BBQ pork, and salted fish & diced chicken fried rice (to go). The baked rice had two decent-sized pieces of chicken and a generous portion of rice. The wontons were large, each with a whole shrimp inside, though the noodles were slightly overcooked. The steamed rice rolls were smooth and tasty. The salted fish & diced chicken fried rice was good, but I wished there was a bit more salted fish. Will definitely be back to try other dishes! ”
“ I got my usual milk tea and rice rolls--rich, smooth, hot, and delicious. Hubby? He went for the porridge set... big mistake. That porridge? 1/5. Tasted like they took yesterday's rice and watered it down. To top it off, the fried noodles never came. When I asked the server, she said it was 'sold out'--but magically, the table next to us got theirs. Hmm, suspicious much? Bottom line: Come here for milk tea and rice rolls--those slap. Everything else? Hard pass. ”
“ First time trying this restaurant for a to-go dinner, and I have a tip: make sure you grab the most updated menu! Use the black-and-white version instead of the color one, as many items are no longer available--like the '冬菇鮑魚片' and '炸子雞.' After a couple of adjustments to find dishes that were actually available, I ended up ordering the 咕嚕肉 (Sweet and Sour Pork) and 牛腩煲 (Beef Stew Clay Pot). The ordering process could definitely be smoother with better menu clarity, but I was still excited to see how the dishes would turn out. More to come on the taste ! The beef stew was impressively tender, making it a great option for elders. The portion size was reasonable too. The Sweet and Sour Pork had a nice flavor, but as expected with takeout, the crispy texture of the batter didn't hold up by the time I got home--dining in would probably be better for this dish. The restaurant seemed understaffed, with everyone rushing around to serve customers, so don't go in expecting fancy service--just a heads up! Haha. Overall, the food was enjoyable, and I'd definitely revisit. Just make sure to dine in if you want the full experience!" ”
“ One of the best chinese meals we had so far! You know it's authentic when everyone in the restaurant are locals + only speaking cantonese. Overall: 4.7/5 Food: 4.8/5 - we got the half roasted duck, crispy pork belly, green beans with XO sauce, fish maw with crab meat soup and house fried rice. Our favs were the duck, pork belly and green beans! The duck was delicious but some pieces were just straight fat and hard to eat. The crispy pork belly was sooo good and lean- had the perfect amount of fat on it. And those green beans were soooooo good!!! Service: 4/5 - typical chinese service. Straight and to the point but very efficient. Just how I like it- i honestly hate the small talk.. just take my order ;) our server got us everything we needed and there was never a time where we had to wait on anything. We got a large soup and he poured it out into our individual bowls for us. Vibes: 3.5/5 - you're coming here for the food mainly and to get an authentic feel for a typical chinese restaurant. Don't expect anything fancy or showy here. Other: Angled street parking in front or parallel street parking on the side streets. finding parking shouldn't be an issue. Safe area of outer sunset. ”
